I've been through this forum and noted the ideas down so I can see easily see what needs to be done.

At the moment there's quite a long list but at the top are:

User/Post Report System
Topic/PM Email Notification

Plus some other quick features that'll be done along the way

Great!

Add the ability to email all the members and this forum will be great!

It's added to my list.

I'll add the ability to email all members, just administrators, just moderators or administrators and moderators.

Of course when custom usergroups are added, those facilities will be updated.

Topic email notification is a very good one.  Am looking forward to that one comming.  I think it will drive forum traffic and appeal.

Here are my thoughts for Email/PM  notification.

The principle is to receive an email when a PM is received or when a post is added to a forum thread you have subscribed to.

For PM’s:

In user CP members can select if they want instant email notification of the receipt of a PM or not.  Default setting should be yes.

For Topic Subscription

It might be a good idea to either:

(a) let the admin decide if all topics posted into get automatic email notification, or
(b) let admin enable user selectable notification at the bottom of each post the poster gets to choose whether to subscribe to the topic.

If (b) is enabled by admin the the default email notification should be set to yes.

In order to keep traffic to a minimum, only one email notification per subscribed thread should be received until the member revisits the thread.  At which point the notification should be re-set.

Email notification message might read something like this:

Dear <member name>,

<name of member who has posted in subscribed thread> has just replied to a thread you have subscribed to entitled - <name of thread> - in the <name of category> of <overall name of website forum>.

This thread is located at:
http://www........

There may also be other replies, but you will not receive any more notifications until you visit the forum again.

All the best,

Unsubscribe

Options for unsubscribing to a topic.

Either:
(a) have a page linked from the user CP where they can see a list of topics with a radio button against each that they can deselect to unsubscribe on a per topic basis, or
(b) have a link in the notification email that has a url that when clicked automatically removes their subscription

Yup i like that for Newsletters that can be sent via admin panel and if its to admins/mods/members or any other new user groups.

another thing i have been brefiely working on is the shoutbox but for the admin panel, this would allow u just to click on the admin panel and before the options you get to edit the site the shoutbox so u can post what needs to be done or ideas so admins like clark dont have to browse the whole entire forum to make sure there not missing anything, obviously only admins/mods will be able to access this part and post, still the admin panel will have all features like before but moderators can only see some of the avalible options.

Another thing would be to see how many times the topic has been viewed and if its a hot Topic so its been viewed more than 500 times a day then a fire symbol to appear next to it What do u think ?

many thanks

I did a thread, but didnt see this one...how about being able to see an IP address for new member registrations ?
It makes it much easier to decide whether to approve the account or not if we can run an IP check real quick to see if its a spammer or not  :)

I did a quick search and didn't see LDAP support, it'll be nice if we can get that in this forum.
