Hmm...I don't have that problem, it works fine for me. Perhaps it's a permissions issue connected with the program used to check for the mail server.

Do you know whether your site is hosted on a windows or linux server?

Glad the local email server check worked the way I intended.

Regarding the password issue, just login as the administrator account, got to Manage Members then click Edit for the user you want. At the top left next to the username is the link to change the password.

It currently says that an email will be sent but it your case it won't but as you know what the password is you can email the password to the user. I'll remove the warning you get about the lack of a mail server from the confirmation.

Hopefully most people will login and change their password immediately as instructed.

Hi there,

Recently added MyUPB 2.2.5 to my website, I have managed to get it running how I want but when people register the email they get says:

Hello Diane!

Welcome to the UPB Forums!  Your password is sdhmuxes1.  You can change your password and other settings by visiting the user:cp portal after you log in.
But before you do that, you must verify your e-mail address by visiting this link: http://www.rantsite.co.uk/register.php?action=validate&id=2&code=reg_4a7d3fef6b9654.44461707
See you on the forums!

--The UPB Team

I would like it to say Welcome to the Rant Forum, and from the Rant Site rather than the UPB Team, I have kept all the powered by and stuff as I should but do not want to confuse the users by them recieving something that does not mention that it is the Rant Forum, can you let me know what files the changes should be made in...

Kind Regards,

Diane

Admin Panel -> Config Settings -> New Members, there is an edit box to change the welcome email.
